The British AV Awards have been recognizing excellence and innovation in AV technology for more than 20 years. This year, ELEMENT ONE’s V-FREE technology has made it onto the so-called shortlist in the category “Support Technology of the Year” as one of six remaining participants competing for the finals. The optionally available, automated V-FREE surface disinfection eliminates viruses, bacteria and other germs on all retractable monitors of the CONVERS and FOLD! series through the use of UV-C.

The automatic screen cleaning fulfills a need for cleanliness and safety that has once again increased significantly in times of Corona. Especially in rooms with changing users, V-FREE saves the regularly required, time-consuming manual treatment of the monitors. To kill germs, the touchscreens are treated using UV-C light and thus completely free of liquids. The effectiveness of the technology has been tested and confirmed in extensive tests.

Adding the possibility of disinfection to the automatically retractable touch monitors simply made sense, explains Thorsten Nees, Managing Director of ELEMENT ONE Multimedia GmbH, because they would be moved into a housing anyway. While the screen is retracted or extended, the almost invisible cleaning takes place. A green light bar indicates when the process begins and when it is complete. Various protective switches and seals ensure risk-free use, and as soon as the housing is opened, V-FREE is switched off. “Monitors equipped with V-FREE give the user an all-around good and safe feeling.”
