Hotel Adlon Berlin

Eight customized Monitors in premier Hotel Adlon Berlin

As part of the refurbishment and modernization of the public areas, special attention was paid to the new reception concept. By the previous extensions to a total of 385 rooms the existing counter became very crowded and almost too small, to check-in and out several guests parallel. This should be improved by an extension and round design. The result is a change in the lobby design towards a more open, more friendly “Welcome-Portal”. A friendly, customer-oriented design of the front desk was the demand.

“Thanks to the retractable monitors we now have a lot of space on a comfortable counter, it is always perfectly tidy and we offer our guests a friendly and warm welcome”, explains Jan Bialuschewski, Director of Rooms at the Adlon. “The first impression is always generated in the lobby.”

The Technology
Eight retractable monitors type MODIS 173 have been installed. They appear out of the surface whisper-silent, if required and at the touch of a button. The monitors were customized to the stone surface of the counters in order to optimally harmonize with the overall design and color concept of the lobby. In the retracted as well as in the extended state, the rear side of the monitor is thus a completely flat and astonishingly untechnical design element.
